New Vice President for Finance Announced

Kent SharpeLast night, Adventist World Radio’s board of directors elected Kent Sharpe as the organization’s new vice president for finance. He replaces Dowell Chow, who became AWR’s president this summer after serving in the finance position for the past five years.

Sharpe comes to AWR from the Arizona Conference, where he has been the treasurer since 2005. While there, he carried the additional responsibility of serving as CEO of Good News TV and MAS TV – low-power digital television stations that broadcast 24/7 in the Phoenix, Arizona, area in Spanish and English.

Sharpe is no stranger to the General Conference building, as he spent five years here as the director of accounting/finance services for Adventist Risk Management. Among other roles over the years, he has been the treasurer of the Arkansas-Louisiana Conference and the business manager for Mount Vernon Academy in Ohio.

“I am very delighted that Kent has accepted the invitation to join our AWR team, and we are looking forward to welcoming him and integrating him into this important role,” says AWR president Dowell Chow.
