AWR is Here

GC Session Atlanta 2010

AWR staff and volunteers are looking forward to interacting with many supporters and visitors at the 2010 General Conference Session in Atlanta this summer. Between June 24 and July 3, you will be able to easily find the large “AWR Is Here” exhibit in the Georgia World Congress Center. The “AWR Is Here” theme will portray two aspects of our ministry: 1) our traditional radio broadcasts, which are targeted at the hardest-to-reach people of the world, and 2) our first broadcasting presence in North America, through our new podcasting system.

Presentations

If you are planning to attend GC Session, we heartily invite you to join us for one or more of our special presentations. The main feature will be concise, easy-to-understand tutorials on our new podcasting system, called Mediator. Mediator will enable us to offer all of our programs – currently available in 80 languages – as podcasts, which can be utilized by anyone who has Internet access anywhere in the world. If you’ve ever wondered what AWR programs in languages such as Igbo, Telugu, or Mongolian sound like, you will now be able to listen to them any time you choose.

Share with a Neighbor

Beyond personal interest, however, having ready access to AWR’s entire roster of programming will equip church members everywhere with a powerful new tool for witnessing to their non-English-speaking neighbors and communities. Our tutorial sessions will demonstrate how you can share the Adventist message of hope with your friends and acquaintances in their own languages.

Mini-Concerts

We will also have mini-concerts by the talented Emmanuel Quartet, who are AWR artist associates; special stories and demonstrations for children; and keynote addresses by AWR president Ben Schoun. We are particularly looking forward to hosting several special guests: AWR Nepal producers Naseeb and Rama Basnet, from Kathmandu, Nepal; and Maasai pastor Roine Laizer, from Arusha, Tanzania. They will be able to tell you firsthand how AWR is impacting the lives of listeners in diverse areas of the world.
